Craft Resource Center

For over 26 years, Craft Resource Center (CRC) has been working with over 5,000 artisans in rural and urban slums in Calcutta, India, to develop economic self-sufficiency for vulnerable artisans through skills and technology training. CRC is well known for creating woven products using the Jamdani technique, recognized by UNESCO as a traditional art form, comprised of vibrant, sheer cotton fabric, traditionally woven on a handloom, inspired by nature and floral patterns. CRC provides the dignity of employment and creative work with locally available materials and traditional techniques.

Artisan Voices

“Our work is not merely an eye-pleasing motif but a symbol of turning the tide on adversaries. We are non-believers of status quo; we are change makers.”
