The co-founders of EverMaya found inspiration to start the company while sailing across Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. After finding themselves in what they described as “Color Country”, EverMaya was built on the values of being socially conscious and honoring traditional artisanship, while also being innovative and fashion forward. These high- quality leather bags are created from the recycled huipils – traditional blouses worn by the women of the region. In local workshops committed to safe, pleasant working conditions and fair wages, the huipils are refashioned into contemporary products. A portion of every sale goes to Education for the Children, a school in Jocotenango, Guatemala which provides education, nutrition, healthcare, counseling, and career guidance to local children.
